DADOS has been implemented by the Division of Orthopaedics at the University Health Network in Toronto Ontario. DADOS provides this team with an admin-managed clinical experience that provides high-level data integrity, which is necessary for storing and tracking important and confidential personal medical history data. The Division notes that DADOS’s seamless clinic integration is an important element to their success. The portable iPad app provides quick and easy use by patients and families, and the secure database for the research allows the Division of Orthopaedics to continue their growth.
Capitalizing on the power of DADOS analytics, Plastics uses DADOS to measure and improve quality and performance within their practice.Quality healthcare delivery relies on measured outcome data, and as such, participating in registry development and centralized data collection has become essential for Plastic Surgery to allow them to proactively participate in the national quality and performance measurement agenda.
The Osteoporosis Program at Toronto’s University Health Network has implemented DADOS and is currently applying it to their research needs. DADOS prevents researchers from spending unnecessary time organizing and accessing information. This allows for more clinical research time. Since implementing DADOS, the Osteoporosis program has seen tangible improvements in their research efficiency.
The Rheumatology program at Toronto’s University Health Network has used DADOS to effectively reduce their physical data storage from a thick binder per patient to almost nothing. Within the DADOS database, Homunculus results can be saved like any other encounter and any changes made within the Homunculus are then recorded in the audit trail, allowing for quick trend analysis. Since its implementation, the Homunculus continues to prove that a simple idea can have a great effect.
This program currently uses DADOS to facilitate the collection of standardized client data electronically as part of their routine care. This data provides an invaluable portrait of inpatient rehabilitation services and associated health outcomes at all levels. DADOS also helps clinicians create customized care plans for clients, leading to better health outcomes and improved efficiencies in the form of shorter hospital stays, reduced wait times and better access to care.
DADOS is currently used in clinical and research practices linked to prostate cancer treatment at UHN. It is being used as an essential tool to digitally monitor a patient’s health-related quality of life (HRQOL). To monitor patient HRQOL regularly and continually, prostate cancer treatment and follow-up health care clinics require a practical and systematic process of data capture and analysis. DADOS eliminates the traditional paper questionnaire format for data capture, which for many reasons is problematic for both the clinicians and researchers.
HEAD AND NECK SURGERY
DADOS is being used by Head and Neck surgery at UHN to manage the deployment, capture and analysis of surveys. Using DADOS, surveys can be deployed and analyzed for the betterment of both the surgeon and the patient. The prospective long term benefits of DADOS’s high quality data collection outweigh any possible initial complications involved in setting up the process.
