DADOS platform is a web-based application for electronically collecting and managing data related to treatment outcomes. The clean and intuitive interface allows clinics to collect data from their patients within a clinic setting. The flexible administrative backend of the platform gives users complete control over subject information and collection schedules and also includes useful reporting and tracking tools. DADOS is an intuitive yet flexible solution that gives both research teams and clinicians what they want while providing a perfect balance between high regulatory compliance and the best of breed functionality.
The application was initially implemented within various clinics and programs at the University Health Network in Canada. Designed to handle prospective clinical research and patient-reported outcomes, the DADOS Platform is developed, maintained and supported by the Electronic Data Capture Program at the Techna Institute.
The Osteoporosis Program at Toronto’s University Health Network has implemented DADOS and is currently applying it to their research needs. DADOS prevents researchers from spending unnecessary time organizing and accessing information. This allows for more clinical research time. Since implementing DADOS, the Osteoporosis program has seen tangible improvements in its research efficiency.

UHN leads the research to diagnose the condition as early as possible, track the progress accurately, and optimize the treatment procedures.
Patient-reported outcomes are fundamental in moving health care closer to a value-based model. A recent article published in Health IT Analytics lists some best practices for optimizing your collection of PROs, such as setting clear goals, using validated questions, and avoiding repetitions. Interested in adding PROs to your practice? DADOS is a platform for securely collecting PROs and can help healthcare providers determine the right care for their patients in real-time.
In her interview with RevCycleIntelligence.com, Rebecca Kirch, JD, executive vice president of healthcare quality and value at the National Patient Advocate Foundation, emphasized that alternative payment models do not support value-based care unless healthcare providers commit to person-centred care.
“If you don’t get feedback early on about what really matters or what the value equation is for patients and their families, then we’re just stabbing in the dark in terms of quality measurement and the associated payment reforms that are so-called ‘value-based,’” she says. Kirch believes that involving patients in the development of alternative payment methods will help providers secure value-based care that’s meaningful to the patient.

A key component of measuring the quality of care and the value to patients is through collecting patient-reported outcomes.
The latest PROMs developments were the focus of a recent UK National PROMs research conference with patients, clinicians, researchers, and academics in attendance.
With “integration and innovation” as the theme, this year’s conference focused on how clinicians can better integrate PROMs into their practice in order to improve patient care. DADOS offers patients the ability to access the system on mobile devices at dedicated kiosks or on tablets connected to the hospital network, making it easy for your patients to provide PROMs.
