Features
Within the DADOS Products
The DADOS Platform provides an interface for collecting data from a variety of studies or clinical situations. With flexible data capture methods, it is able to meet the unique requirements of any research workflow or clinical environment. Offering features appropriate for clinical trials, mobile surveys, registries, patient-reported outcomes, and research/clinical protocol adherence.
DADOS has an established library of template PROs ready to be used and customized for any clinical environment or research study. The library includes standardized pain, functionality, and quality of life assessments as well as the PROMIS library of CAT measures.
The user-interface for the patients is clean, simple to use and fast. Data collection can be performed at point-of-care with mobile tablet technology, by patients at dedicated kiosks, or on tablets connected to the hospital network. Patients can also complete their forms prior to their clinic visits from the comfort of their own home. DADOS currently supports iOS and Android tablets.
DADOS offers the ability for patients, clinicians, researchers, and administrators alike to interact with the platform. Users can complete custom case report forms on an admin interface in tandem with patient data, keeping all information pertaining to a patient in a single location. Importing and exporting of data for subjects is straightforward and fast, allowing you to migrate data from legacy systems which can be handled without the need for a systems expert.
Sometimes there is still a need for paper documents, with DADOS you can automate the transfer of your paper forms to the database. The DADOS TeleForm integration can reduce the mountains of old paperwork into an organized data set. TeleForm allows you to capture handwritten data from paper documents and seamlessly upload the contained data onto our secure servers.
DADOS standardizes data collection and processes, ensuring data quality. The application is designed to be fully compliant with privacy regulations (HIPAA/PIPEDA), with enhanced privacy and quality improvement-related features including audit logging capabilities, role-based user access permissions, and a repository for study-related source documentation.
DADOS facilitates the collection and analysis of patient-generated health data, which can supplement existing clinical data, thereby filling in information gaps and providing a more comprehensive picture of ongoing patient health.
DADOS supports a patient kiosk environment that can be integrated with EMR systems, allowing for clinics to set up intake forms and streamline registration processes. First-time patients can self-register and immediately begin filling out forms required prior to their appointment.
DADOS allows you to define collection centres, build custom reports, create registries, and track participants. Admins can add users with various levels of data access to act as coordinators, interviewers, physicians, or assistants specific to each collection centre or to the overall study. Our robust administrative interface allows administrators to easily manage and coordinate large scale and longitudinal data collection projects across different sites.
The easy-to-use user interface lets admins set up custom report templates allowing users to generate reports in real time based on completed measures. The patient’s score can be compared to patient norms established in literature and then used to make assessments and evaluate the patient’s response to their care.
DADOS Platform boasts several integrations allowing for the ability to support clinical workflow in new ways. Most notably, there is a framework for integrating with institutional clinical data repositories, providing the ability to import patient and clinic related information into the system. Other available integrations include an HL7-based functionality to import LifeLabs data, a framework for PROMIS questionnaires, and Power BI integration for visual reporting and dashboards.
With the integration of computer adaptive testing (CAT) based PROMIS tools into DADOS, clinicians and researchers can enjoy a simple point-and-click solution that can be set up quickly. Unlike traditional PROs, CAT based PROMIS tools require 2-3 minutes to complete, while still measuring domains such as physical function, pain interference, and depression.
The availability of PROMIS tools in the DADOS library of outcome measures brings the latest innovations in outcomes measurement to clinicians and researchers across UHN and other institutions.
Plug-and-play type functionality helps improve the standardization of datasets across studies, and DADOS has the ability to handle and support disparate data from a wide variety of sources while sticking to protocol adherence. Our application has the capability to collect online consent forms for each study. The consent form can be made collection centre specific. Signing the online consent form will automatically register the subject in the study and they will be presented with their initial surveys to complete.
Administrators can create users with various levels of permissions to view and edit data. User roles can be managed by study or program coordinators who are able to add users with equivalent or lower-level access. A user may have viewing access to one study and editing access to another. Administrators can also restrict access to users to view or edit data from a single collection centre.
DADOS works to conform to the HIPAA and PIPEDA privacy regulations and will ensure that all personal health information captured in the study is securely stored. Throughout the interface, study participants are referenced using a unique anonymous identifier. Additionally, personal health information is encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and only exposed to users with appropriate access to the study.
The majority of patients want online access to their health information to help them manage their conditions. DADOS Connect allows patients to access their DADOS portal wherever they are and fill in the information. The same forms and surveys that can be accessed in the clinics can be filled out from where ever the client can connect to the internet.
Most physicians do not have enough time to keep track of all of their patients. Using strictly manual processes, maintaining continuous contact with every patient is a task that exceeds the capability of even the largest healthcare organization. DADOS automates this process by scheduling automated emails to patients to complete their questionnaires.
DADOS has the capability to collect online consent forms for each study. The consent form can be made collection centre specific so varying content may be displayed to accommodate different site needs. Participants must sign any configured consent forms prior to being presented with their initial surveys to complete. Without consent indicated, participants will not be allowed to proceed with the study or clinical program.
The consent module also includes versioning so that changes to the consent form are captured. Those consent forms that were completed using an older version will be unsigned and the new version presented on the next login of the subject.
