In a study led by Dr. Eric Makhni, 143 patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery in 2014 were prospectively enrolled into an electronic data collection system. Participants were asked to complete a set of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) pre-operatively, and six and 12 months post-operatively. Results indicated that 76% of individuals completed their forms pre-operatively, however, compliance form completion decreased to 57% at 6 months and to 45% at 12 months. Most patients who did complete forms did so at home or at another location before returning to the clinic. DADOS allows patients to complete study forms at home through the DADOS Connect feature, and its user-friendly interface may help maintain better data collection rates.
